Itachi's Obituary - slight spoilers
SympathyPoor Itachi had been wrecked with illness. But he still thought of Sasuke, and took life-prolonging drugs, lengthening his suffering, just so he could die by his little brother to ensure his future. He wanted Sasuke to be able to go back to Konoha a hero, even if it meant himself dying in dishonour.
He went down like a man, smiling. He has repented for his crimes, killing his friends and family save for little Sasuke. He had tried to help Sasuke in every way, protected him from the manipulative hands of Danzou and the truth. Now, after working relentlessly for all his lifetime, he can rest in peace. And people like me who have absolutely despised him have to face up to the horrible truth.
Poor Sasuke. How is he supposed to react to this?
Tobi, or Madara, is telling Sasuke all this for a reason, and I believe it is this: to instil in Sasuke a sense of hatred and vengeance towards Konoha. He wants Sasuke to wreak havoc in the village so he could take the opportunity to become Hokage. Why else did Itachi tried to protect Sasuke from the man? Sneaky bastard.
I only hope Sasuke would take to heart his brother's wish for peace and go back to Konoha. Then when Naruto becomes Hokage, he can work directly under him as an ANBU member and we can all squeal at the SasuNaru-ness! Yes, that is best!
RIP Uchiha Itachi - AND I'M SORRY!!!
P.S. To LadyKnightOfHollyrose - aha! See, I told you ItaSasu was present! All those times he could have killed Sasuke, he didn't, because he loved him! See? See? I'm right about something for the first time ever!

I don't care it's a shonen manga. A fujoshi always yaoi-fy the situations to fit her purpose - in this case, ItaSasu will remain a legitimate pairing
